Powder Coating Application-

- Electrostatic Spray Gun– in this an electrostatic gun is used to apply the electrostatically charged particles to the grounded workpiece. A uniform layer of powder is created.
- Fluidized Bed– in this the workpiece is preheated and then dipped into a fluidized bed of powder, due to the heat the powder particles melt and adhere to the workpiece.
- Triboelectric Process– the powder particles are charged due to friction as they pass through a nozzle. These oppositely charged particles are then applied to the workpiece which gets attracted and adhered on the surface of the workpiece due to their opposite charge.
All these different types of powder coating machines apply a protective or decorative layer of powder on the surface.
After powder coating is applied to the material, the coated material is placed in a curing oven, where the powder melts and reacts with the material and forms a more uniform and continuous layer. The time and temperature of curing depends upon the thickness and composition of the coating.
Cooling and Inspection-
After curing, the coated material is allowed to cool down at room temperature. The coated object is inspected for any defects such as uneven coating or any other imperfections.
